Terms of enrollment, tuition and refunds
Version 2026-11-03. Effective 3 November 2026.
These terms are an agreement between Testlyn LLC d/b/a 8020 Education, a Wyoming limited liability company (“8020 Education”, “we”), and the parent or legal guardian who enrolls a student (“you”). If the student is an adult paying for their own lessons, “you” means the student. By ticking the agreement box on our enrollment page, signing an enrollment form, or paying tuition, you accept these terms.
You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of any student under 18 that you enroll.
1. Enrollment confirmation
After you pay, we email you an Enrollment Confirmation. It lists the student, the program, the agreed schedule (days, times and time zone), the start date, the number of lessons or the course length, and the tuition paid. The Enrollment Confirmation and these terms together form our agreement. If anything in it is wrong, tell us in writing within 3 days of receiving it and we will correct it. After that, the Enrollment Confirmation is treated as accurate.
2. Schedule
- The schedule is agreed with you before payment and is written in the Enrollment Confirmation. Group classes are opened, and tutors are assigned, based on that schedule.
- If you later ask for a different schedule, we will try to find one, but a new schedule depends on tutor and class availability. A schedule change requested by you is not a reason for a refund.
- Private lessons: you may reschedule a lesson for free with at least 24 hours’ notice. A lesson cancelled with less notice, or missed, counts as delivered.
- Group classes: a missed group class is not refunded or repeated. Where available, the student receives the recording and materials.
- If we cancel or move a lesson, we offer a make-up lesson at no charge.
3. Tuition and payment
Tuition is paid in advance for the package or course shown in the Enrollment Confirmation. Package prices apply only to the full package. Tuition does not include official exam registration fees.
4. Refunds and cancellation
- Before the first lesson: full refund.
- After the first lesson, before half of the package or course has been delivered: we refund the unused part. Delivered lessons are charged at our standard single-lesson rate (not the package rate), and an administration fee of 10% of the tuition paid is deducted.
- After half of the package or course has been delivered: no refund. Unused lessons can be kept as credit or transferred (see section 5).
- If we cannot deliver: if we cannot start lessons on the agreed schedule within 30 days of the agreed start date, or we stop offering the program, you may choose a refund of the unused part (with no administration fee) or credit. If we offer a class or tutor on the schedule in your Enrollment Confirmation and you decline it, this does not apply.
The following are not grounds for a refund beyond the rules above: a change of schedule requested by you after enrollment, a change of mind, the student’s absence, lack of homework or effort, or exam results. We do not guarantee any particular score or admission outcome.
To ask for a refund, email [email protected] with the student’s name. The date we receive your email is the cancellation date. Approved refunds are paid to the original payment method within 14 business days.
5. Credit, pausing and transfers
Instead of a refund, you may pause lessons, keep unused lessons as credit for up to 12 months, or transfer them to a sibling. Credit and transfers use the price you originally paid.
6. Payment disputes
If you have a problem with a charge, please contact us first. We answer within one working day and most issues can be fixed directly. If you file a dispute or chargeback with your bank, we will share the Enrollment Confirmation, your acceptance of these terms, attendance records and lesson recordings with the bank, and lessons may be paused while the dispute is open.
7. Lesson recordings and records
Online lessons may be recorded and attendance is logged. We use recordings to give students lessons to review, to check teaching quality, and as a record of lessons delivered. By enrolling, you consent to these recordings for you and the student. Recordings are kept for up to 12 months and are not published without separate written permission.
8. Conduct
Students and families are expected to treat tutors and classmates with respect. We may end lessons for abusive behaviour, cheating or sharing our materials. If we do, unused lessons are refunded under section 4.
9. Liability
We teach with care, but results depend on many things outside our control. To the extent the law allows, our total liability under this agreement is limited to the tuition you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
10. Disputes and governing law
If there is a disagreement, email us first. We will try to resolve it in good faith within 30 days. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA. Either party may bring a claim in a small-claims court that has jurisdiction.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The version you accepted when you enrolled applies to that enrollment. A new version applies only to new enrollments or renewals.
